Why Ruby Jo Arthur? Whether you mean the name itself, or her writing, there is a story to unravel. The pen name Ruby Jo Arthur is a tribute to family members that have passed on. Ironically, the order of the name corresponds to the timing in which the family members left this Earth. The addition of Arthur onto the pen name was a recent one, but it serves to cement the tribute to those that have left us. As her grandfather (and basically her dad) was always confused about how to spell his middle name, Ruby Jo became Ruby Jo Arthur, the author. 

Ruby Jo Arthur has always written about experiences or emotions, thus creating an escape for herself and others. What makes Ruby Jo unique as a writer is her experiences in life and how they translate into her work. Her love of poetry blossomed in middle school and continued to bloom in later years. In high school, Ruby Jo won an award for a poem about writing. Dabbling in screenwriting, non-fiction, and various other forms Ruby Jo’s love has remained with poetry and fiction writing.
